Whitchurch

ValeView is situated in Whitchurch - a settlement first mentioned in the Domesday book as owned by Hugh de Bolbec. It has a thriving local pub (The White Swan) serving food everyday and an attractive 13th Century church, which gives Whitchurch its name. There is a well signposted, circular ‘village walk’ with accompanying information boards taking in sites of historical interest - who can resist a visit to Fair Alice’s Spring or Castle Mound?

The Vale

Aylesbury Vale regularly features in lists of the top places to live in the country and it is easy to see why. At its centre is the historic market town of Aylesbury, which offers everything one would expect to justify its newly acquired status as a ‘garden town’. It is bordered to the south by the Chilterns (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and at its western end is Waddesdon Manor, the beautiful ancestral home of the Rothschild family - famous for their love of art and wine.

Further afield

Just beyond the fringes of Aylesbury Vale lie some of this country’s biggest tourist attractions. To the west is the designer shopping outlet Bicester Village and the historic City of Oxford with its ‘dreaming spires’. To the north is Stowe with its formal gardens famously landscaped by Capability Brown, and Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix . So if you fancy venturing outside the Vale there is plenty of choice.
